* Continue the Civil Rights Movement of Equality and Justice for "all" people.
* Improve quality of life so people will feel safe in their own neighborhoods and homes.
* Work to bring California out of the economic doldrums.
* Inclusion instead of exclusion. There are 21.7 million people who can vote. 14 million are registered to vote. This
means that over 7 million people are not participating in government. I will do my best to involve them in the
political process.
* Thirty-two Hour Work Week. The forty-hour work week was set by another generation with a different
perspective of life, and different problems to conquer. We need to support the family structure by spending
more time with our families and/or loved ones.
* Reduce taxes on citizens by limiting the ever-expanding "Prison Building Program."
* Creating new jobs. Creating desalination plants, at least 25 in Southern California, would allow Northern
California to keep it's water.
* Attack the "core" problem of delinquency and assault behavior in school, and the street gang phenomenon.
Expansion of the California Youth Authority's Gang Violence Reduction Project following the mode created by
the first director (1976-1979).
* Reduce the school dropout rate! Support teachers and their unions.
* Emphasize "prevention" instead of "correction" in "ALL" areas of the criminal justice system.
* Save the farm workers and their families from toxic cancer producing chemicals. Provide decent housing and
working conditions.
* Safeguard senior citizens, the handicapped, and the homeless.
A vote for PINEDA is a vote for the People of California!!
